Dr. Anne Gervasi

Anne Gervasi is the point person for English 112 classes, and is a member of both the Strategic Planning Committee and the L.E.A.D. Committee at Devry. Currently, she teaches ENGL 112, ENGL 135, ENGL 227, HUMN 420, and HUMN 432. She also teaches the GM 410 class for the Keller Graduate School of Management. Dr. Gervasi received her B.A. degree in theater from Baylor University. Afterward, she attended the University of Texas where she earned an M.L.S. degree in information science. Eventually, Dr. Gervasi attended Texas Women's University where she earned her Ph.D. in Rhetoric. At TWU, she was a recipient of the Sigma Tau Delta scholarship and the NCTE scholarship for outstanding teaching. She started her career in the English field at many of the Texas libraries. While attending Texas Women's University, Dr. Gervasi focused on higher education. During her graduate work, she was a Graduate Teaching Fellow where she taught freshman Composition, Developmental Writing, British Literature, and Dramatic Literature. During her last year of her Ph.D. studies, she became a part-time instructor at North Lake College. While at North Lake, she was promoted to the position of Director of the North Lake Writing Center. Also, at the same time of being Director, she took an adjunct teaching position at Devry University, and in 1999, she accepted the full-time Associate Professor position at Devry. |
